City opens Parow, Kuils River cash offices but still recommends online service options

The City of Cape Town opens the Parow and Kuils River cash offices for operations tomorrow, 28 May 2020. The City’s municipal offices in Strand, Plumstead, Table Bay and Liberty Promenade Mitchells Plain malls were opened to customers recently.
This month, the City started with the staggered opening of its revenue/cash offices to members of the public. The use of online services and the City’s e-Services where possible, however, remains encouraged as we move into Level 3 of the National COVID-19 Lockdown restrictions from 1 June 2020 to reduce the spread of the virus.
Online and e-Services allows customers the opportunity to make municipal account payments, indigent applications, payment arrangements and rates rebate applications.
The opening of more revenue/cash offices across the city will be communicated to members of the public soon. The City’s Motor Vehicle Registration and Licencing Offices are not open as yet. These offices across the metro will open in a phased manner to customers starting in June 2020. The City looks to open its Motor Vehicle Licencing Offices once the Nationally controlled Traffic Information System is fully operational again.
The City has taken all the necessary precautions, as guided by the Western Cape Government and National Authorities to ensure the safety of customers and staff. The grace period for motor vehicle renewals still applies.
Lockdown-related grace periods apply to:
- driving licence applications and renewal
- learner’s licences
- temporary permits
- professional driving permits (PrDPs)
- roadworthy certificates
- the registering and licensing of a motor vehicle, as well as annual licence renewals
In addition, the validity period for the renewal of a motor trade number licence is extended for a further six months after the Level 5 or Level 4 lockdown has ended.

- apply to receive accounts via email

- Online: www.Easypay.co.za or www.payCity.co.za
- EFTs: Select the City as a bank-listed beneficiary. Use only your nine-digit municipal account number as reference
- Retailers: Checkers, Pick n Pay, Shoprite, Spar and Woolworths
- e-Services: Use the City’s online e-services portal
- ATM: contact your bank to add the City as an ATM beneficiary
